SBO, Jakarta— Minister of Agriculture and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) met with Singapore Ambassador to Indonesia Kwok Fook Seng in the Minister’s Room on Wednesday, 10/7.

During the meeting, apart from discussing a number of future internal agendas, both parties also shared knowledge regarding land aspects.

Minister AHY explained that his party is currently trying to achieve the goal of land registration throughout Indonesia which is implemented through the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) program.

“Not only cadastral registration, we are also working on digital transformation. We want to complete the registration of 120 million land plots by the end of this year. “It’s not an easy job, but we are on the right track now,” he said.

Minister AHY also explained that the Indonesian government created inequality in land control through land redistribution which was part of the agrarian reform program.

“Like two months ago, President Joko Widodo handed over 10,000 certificates resulting from land redistribution in Banyuwangi, East Java,” he explained.

During the meeting, Minister AHY expressed his interest in Singapore’s digital mapping system.

“We need to learn from Singapore in terms of 3D mapping. “Maybe we can even transfer knowledge and experience related to this, because we also need to prepare our human resources to improve skills,” he said.

Talking about digital maps, Singapore Ambassador to Indonesia Kwok Fook Seng said that the area of Singapore is much smaller than the area of Indonesia.

“Singapore is more or less wider than Jakarta. We do digital mapping in ground operations in Singapore. “This three-dimensional digital map includes land, underground and even buildings,” explains Kwok Fook Seng.

Singapore also continues to strive to build a smart city country through ‘Smart Nation Singapore’.

“Smart Nation itself is a combination of hardware, software development, and citizens who can use it (able to implement smart city tools, Ed.),” explained Kwok Fook Seng.

Meanwhile, Minister AHY was accompanied in this meeting by Special Staff for Internal Management Agust Jovan Latuconsina and Expert Staff for Internal Management Mira Permatasari.
