SBO, OKU– The East Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency Government, South Sumatra welcomed the arrival of 438 Hajj pilgrims in their home area after carrying out a series of Hajj pilgrimages in the Holy Land of Mecca.

East OKU Regency Government Assistant III Sutrisno in Martapura, Friday said that the returning Hajj pilgrims who were members of the 10 Palembang Embarkation Flying Group (Kloter) 1445 H had arrived at Palembang’s Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport on July 4 2024 at 17.55 WIB.

The Hajj group from East OKU Regency flew using Saudi Airlines which took off from Medina Prince Mohammad bin Abdul Aziz Airport on July 3 2024 at 22.00 local time.

“Welcome back to the congregation at East OKU after perfecting the pillars of Islam by carrying out the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca,” said Sutrisno.

He hopes that the Hajj carried out by the congregation will be accepted by Allah and that it will be a prosperous Hajj and be able to become a good example for the people in the surrounding environment.

“Hopefully all pilgrims will become mabrur pilgrims and can maintain their mabrur, faith and piety will increase and can guide society to be much better,” he hoped.

On this occasion, he also expressed his deep condolences to the families of East OKU Regency Hajj pilgrims who died on Duci Land.

“On behalf of myself, I express my condolences for the deaths of two East OKU pilgrims. Let us pray together that the deceased will die in a state of husnul khatimah and the families left behind will be given fortitude,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the People’s Welfare Section of the East OKU Regional Secretariat, Sukran, in his report said that the number of Hajj pilgrims from East OKU Regency who were members of Group 10 had arrived in their area of ​​origin as many as 438 people, including five group officers.

“The total number of Hajj pilgrims at departure was 441 people, but two of them died in the holy land and another pilgrim had to be treated at a hospital in Medina,” he said.
