Bastari: Sacrificial Meat Packaged in Environmentally Friendly Plastic

SBO, Palembang— Residents of the Darul Abror Mosque were “spoiled” by sacrificing 10 cows and eight goats.

As Eid al-Adha approaches, the residents of Jalan Tanah Merah RT 39, Demang Lebar Daun Subdistrict, Ilir Barat I District, Palembang, are ready to provide 10 cows and eight goats as sacrificial animals this year.

Even though they are providers of sacrifices on Eid al-Adha 1445 Hijriah this year, some of the providers of sacrificial cows and goats are not willing to have their rights given to them.

“This is very good. This means that they are giving to the poor, not unwilling to state that they have given sacrificial cows or goats to those who are entitled to receive sacrificial meat,” said Ustadz Sakak, when asked for his response, Monday, June 17 2024.

According to Sakak, the obligation to pray and make sacrifices is mentioned in Surah Al-Kautsar verse 2, so pray and make sacrifices.

“So, if we are able to provide sacrificial animals, then sacrifice cows, goats or other animals that must be sacrificed,” said Ustadz Sakak, smiling.

Apart from that, said Ustadz Sakak, in Surah Al-Hajj verse 28, it is stated that they should witness various benefits so that they can chant the name of Allah for several days that have been determined for the sustenance He has given them in the form of livestock.

“Then eat the good fortune. Meanwhile, give some of the other (sacrificial meat) so that it can be eaten by the poor and the miserable,” said Ustadz Sakak.

Responding to Ustadz Sakak’s statement, the Chairman of the Daruul Abror Mosque, H Ahmad Bastari Yusak Saleh, said that sacrificial meat was specifically given to those who did not have any.

“However, because this sacrificial meat is to bring happiness on the Eid al-Adha holiday, we still provide the rights of those who are obliged to bring happiness on the Eid al-Adha 1445 Hijriah,” said Bastari accompanied by the chairman of the sacrificial organizing committee Dedy Sariyanto SE.

According to Bastari, his party packages the sacrificial meat in plastic made from cassava. “This plastic is environmentally friendly. If it has been used and we throw it in the trash, the plastic can decompose within three months,” explained Bastari.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the sacrificial committee, Dedy Suryanto, explained that the slaughter of cows and goats was carried out collaboratively by the residents of RT 39 themselves.

“In fact, with enthusiasm and good intentions, we distributed it to the residents and did it together. This shows how sincere the residents are in carrying out sacrificial slaughter activities at the Daruul Abror Mosque,” said Dedy, closing the conversation.
